So tell us about Is Three a crowd?

Three a Crowd? Is a short film about a monogamous queer couple who sit down for an afternoon coffee. One of them brings a new book they have been reading to the table. From there a whole conversation about love, lust and polyamory opens up, throwing difficult discussion into the mix.

How did you come up with the idea?

I love writing stories from different character’s point of view. I’ve tackled subjects like heartbreak in the past, so this time I wanted to look at the theme of polyamory, a new subject matter for me which I haven’t explored through film yet - and how two people can have such contrasting views about the same subject.

I did some brainstorming and rough drafts, originally setting the film outside while the characters were having a picnic. From there the ideas and characters evolved, bringing it to its final form which is set in a coffee shop.

How did you get into doing short films?

I’ve always loved cinema since I was a young boy. I use to make Lego films in my bedroom when I was 10/11 years old. From there I asked my friends to be in them, and then slowly built up from there. Now I’m lucky enough to get to work with amazing up and coming talent from the local area and I couldn’t be happier.

How can people check out your work?

You can find me on Instagram and YouTube. Search Made by Milletti and my content will come up.

What plans do you have for 2025?

I’m looking forward to submitting Is Three a Crowd? to some 2025 film festivals and seeing what the reception is to that. I’m also in the early stages of planning my next short film which I will shoot early next year. It’s a busy time but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
